“Ignorance is bliss.”
But, is it really?
Once you are no longer ignorant of a fact you can no longer ignore it.
Once you are no longer ignorant your only option is to either now ignore facts or use your knowledge to grow and stand up for the truth.
Having knowledge of something gives you the ability to fight for what is right. You can no longer hide behind your rose colored glasses because you are aware. Now, it is your responsibility to learn what you can and use it to help people. You can no longer hide.
I texted a close family friend this morning while I was praying which is relevant to this post…
“…but the point is He never stops loving me and He never stops teaching me. Every time I call out for him to “Just tell me!” He does. Ephesians 4, Hebrews 9-12, Romans 7-9.
As much as I fought and cried about things I thought I wanted I wouldn’t trade what I have learned or my relationship with Jesus for anything in the whole world. Philippians 3:7-11, Hebrews 12:11.
I would lose it again and again knowing the peace and joy and love that I have found. It’s the greatest treasure that nobody can take away from you. He taught me how to love. He wants me and will never leave me.”
Bliss or “happiness…utter joy…” is what comes after you have fought with all you have and have surrendered.
Things happen in this life, but it is no reason to let your joy be stolen.
“…THAT YE PUT OFF CONCERNING THE FORMER CONVERSATION THE OLD MAN, WHICH IS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS; AND BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND. AND THAT YE PUT ON THE NEW MAN, WHICH AFTER GOD IS CREATED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUE HOLINESS. WHEREFORE PUTTING AWAY LYING, SPEAK EVERY MAN TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOUR: FOR WE ARE MEMBERS ONE OF ANOTHER.
BE YE ANGRY, AND SIN NOT: LET NOT THE SUN GO DOWN UPON YOUR WRATH:

LET ALL BITTERNESS, AND WRATH, AND ANGER, AND CLAMOUR, AND EVIL SPEAKING, BE PUT AWAY FROM YOU, WITH ALL MALICE: AND BE YE KIND ONE TO ANOTHER, TENDERHEARTED, FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER, EVEN AS GOD FOR CHRIST’S SAKE HATH FORGIVEN YOU. – EPHESIANS 4:22-32
“NOW NO CHASTENING FOR THE PRESENT SEEMETH TO BE JOYOUS, BUT GRIEVOUS: NEVERTHELESS AFTERWARD IT YIELDETH THE PEACEABLE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO THEM WHICH ARE EXERCISED THEREBY.” – HEBREWS 12:2
When you have surrendered to what you are holding onto then you will have peace because nothing else matters. Nothing is more powerful than being aware of the truth and having your eyes opened because then you have the option to either ignore it or fight evil.
Ignorance is not really bliss. Ignorance is just a veil.
When you pop out of your bed at 4:45 AM on a Saturday you go for a morning drive and watch the sunrise.
