It’s not me. It’s You.

A few nights ago on the way to the grocery store I heard on the radio, “If you received what you prayed for would it affect others, too?”.

How are you waiting?

Would others know of the God you serve if you got what you so desperately prayed for? Would they rejoice too? Would they know He is sovereign and the God of miracles, signs, and wonders? Would He get the glory?

It’s not about us. It never was.

What if you never got what you wanted?  Would you still be content?

What if God didn’t create us to be happy, but instead created us for Himself and to be holy?

What if we never achieved much of anything the world says brings worth and peace?  What if we never got what the world says to chase?  What if we had to give up all of our desires?

What if we prayed for His will to be done in our lives instead of our own?  What if He meant what He said about taking up our cross?

We are His church and His bride.

His peace is not in this world.  We were created for much greater and nothing in this world comes close to the life that is to come.

“LET YOUR CONVERSATION BE WITHOUT COVETOUSNESS; AND BE CONTENT WITH SUCH THINGS AS YE HAVE: FOR HE HATH SAID, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE. SO THAT WE MAY BOLDLY SAY, THE LORD IS MY HELPER, AND I WILL NOT FEAR WHAT MAN SHALL DO UNTO ME.” – HEBREWS 13:5-6

“I’ve had plans shattered and broken and things I have hoped in fall through my hands.
You have plans to redeem and restore me.
You’re behind and before me.

Oh, help me believe.

God, You don’t need me, but somehow You want me.
Oh, how You love me.
Somehow, that frees me to take my hands off of my life and the way it should go.
Oh, God, You don’t need me, but somehow You want me.
Oh, how You love me!
Somehow, that frees me to open my hands up and give You control.

I give You control.

You want me!  Somehow, You want me.

The King of Heaven wants me so this world has lost its grip on me.”
