A girl and her miracle bicycle…

This blog is a surprise follow up to my recent post ‘Jehovah Jireh – From parking spaces to jean jackets God provides our every need….

I haven’t had a car in what will be 3 years in September.

September 2016… Best car ever.  “Weep not for the memories…”

The bike I’ve had for what seems forever broke last year.  I was tired of fixing it and tired of broken things in my life.  I decided I wouldn’t fix it anymore, but would get a new one.  I also wasn’t getting rid of it until I had a replacement.  I never told anyone about it because it wasn’t that important.

***I had neither car nor bicycle now.***

I looked at bikes.  I didn’t really know what I wanted or even how to buy a bike.  I also didn’t want to spend money on something that wasn’t crucial to living.

I still never told anyone I didn’t have a bike.

It wasn’t important.

A couple weekends ago someone texted me that they had a bike for me.  I was confused, but didn’t say no, and then just cried knowing Who sent it for me.

On the way to get it I told my dad, “She’s a foot taller than me, but it’s going to be ok!”

When we got to her house she said, “This bike is short for me.”

Is that just not perfect?

I told one of my favorite people this story and he said, “You put it down and forgot about the bike and wanted to have a new one.  God already knew He would bless you with one. You didn’t know it, but He knew the exact day and way you would get it and it was when you would least expect it.  I bet it was like she gave you $1 million.”

That’s the truth.  I was so excited I couldn’t contain it.

This bike is more valuable to me than any I would’ve saved for and purchased on my own because it was given to me by my Heavenly Father.

It was also a testimony to the giver and to the receiver because we have both been in waiting seasons ‘and suddenly’ we were both blessed by something so random, but desired.

Anyone can say it was a coincidence, but I and any believer, knows my Heavenly Father sent it to me.  Nobody knew I was in need of a bike, but it was on her heart to contact me about it.

There’s nothing I did to earn it.
There’s nothing I did to deserve it.
There’s no explanation except that my Heavenly Father loves me and takes care of me.  He knew I desired a bike and planned to provide one for me in His time.  I wasn’t worried about it, but He sent one to me just the same.

“EVERY GOOD GIFT AND EVERY PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE, AND COMETH DOWN FROM THE FATHER OF LIGHTS, WITH WHOM IS NO VARIABLENESS, NEITHER SHADOW OF TURNING.”
– JAMES 1:17

MATTHEW 6.  Little things like bicycles and jackets and cookies represent big things.  Do not worry about your life… what you will eat or what you will wear.  If God so clothes the lilies of the field and feeds the birds of the air how much more valuable to Him are you?  He has every little thing taken care of and thought out.  In His time do His gifts come.  He loves to bless His children.

He knows what we need before we even ask.  Don’t fret over the things you desire and don’t have yet.  Just because you may not be where you would like in life doesn’t mean you’re not where you’re supposed to be.  Let go.  Trust God.  His plan is better for you than any you could ever make up on your own.

Living for God is always an adventure and the best one I’ve ever chosen.

He takes care of His children in the littlest of ways.
