“My soul finds rest in Him alone; my salvation comes from Him” – A season of rest

I can’t wait to see what God does in this new season.  Nothing visibly extravagant has happened to mark a new season, but I believe it is a season of rest and enjoying God.  I am so thankful God didn’t give me what I wanted most because if I had gotten what I wanted I wouldn’t be where I’m at with my relationship with Him.

I can now see what a truly special time it is now and almost feel overly blessed.  As a caregiver you’re busy taking care of others and at the time I was so stressed I could not imagine living in peace or being still.  It doesn’t make sense to me even except I had a spirit of anxiety, bitterness, and control and the way God dealt with me was to not change my circumstances.  The only choice I had was to look up.

I could only go to Him for “Where else could I go?” – John 6

But, the real lesson is that I was transformed by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2) and found out what a true miracle and blessing it is to know the meaning of that verse.  The battle is in our minds (1 Peter 5; Ephesians 6:12).

If Satan can mess with your mind and create the tiniest speck of doubt and get you to believe it then he has control of the game.

But, as a new creation you realize he has been defeated.  The game is over.  It is finished.

Satan can’t touch what is God’s.

We will have trials in this life, but they are for our benefit (1 Peter 1:7) and it will rain on the just and unjust.  But, we are to let our light shine.  Our light is the light that comes from Him because He is the Light of the world and it is no longer us who live, but HE who lives in us.  While we are in the world we are not of it.  We were called out and set apart because we now have the mind of Christ (Philippians 4:8) when we chose to follow Him.  We have peace when peace can’t be found anywhere in this world.  Jesus conquered death so we could have His spirit and that spirit did not come to be depressed or living a so, so life.

“FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND.” – 2 TIMOTHY 1:7

He is an overcomer.
He is a sea splitter.
He moves mountains.
He raises the dead out of their graves and calls them to life.

How can we ever have a bad day with that kind of power living inside of us?

When you learn your new identity and truly understand what Christ did how can anything in this life change your day or attitude?

We put on the new man.  The old man is dead.  He’s no longer alive.

“Forget the former things”.  Those things don’t matter anymore.  “Behold, I will do a new thing.”

What happened an hour ago doesn’t matter.  What happened 5 years ago doesn’t matter. You don’t have to be that person.  You can allow yourself to grow and the greatest way is to draw near to Christ.  You cannot be a new person or really change until you let Christ transform you.  You would only be faking because you cannot be new until you have a new heart.

A few weeks ago I prayed to draw near to Him.  I was almost afraid to pray that because I was scared that meant trials would come and I wasn’t ready for a trial.  I finally have peace and am able to enjoy this season.

But, you know what happened instead?

The world got more distant and quiet and His voice got louder (John 10).  My faith got stronger because I realized what can man do to me?  I serve the one true living God who sent His son Jesus to die for me because He loves me for no reason except He wants me for eternity.

He rescued me when I had no hope.  He said I was worthy when I felt worthless and unlovable.  At the point of my life He pulled me out of the pit and stood me up.

“I SOUGHT THE LORD AND HE HEARD ME AND DELIVERED ME FROM ALL MY FEARS.” – PSALM 34:4

He looked at me and said, “I want you.  Come with me.  I love you.  You are enough as you are.”

What would I ever find in this world that could compare to that?

Nothing.  The world will run you over and tear you to pieces if you let it.

If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything and I choose to stand on the Solid Rock… the cornerstone.  When I need help I’ve learned to run to my wonderful counselor…The King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He is my best friend and my defender who fights for me.  He picks me up when I fall down and promises to never leave me.

There is no other for me.

“THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD UNTO THESE BONES; BEHOLD, I WILL CAUSE BREATH TO ENTER INTO YOU, AND YE SHALL LIVE…” – EZEKIEL 37:5

You could talk until you are blue in the face, but you could never explain the indescribable.

Only those who have experienced His goodness and His presence could ever understand.

There is only one for me.

“The name Yeshua is a shortened version of the name Yehoshua or Joshua and is the literal Hebrew word for salvation.”

“FOR I WILL TAKE YOU FROM AMONG THE HEATHEN, AND GATHER YOU OUT OF ALL COUNTRIES, AND WILL BRING YOU INTO YOUR OWN LAND.  THEN WILL I SPRINKLE CLEAN WATER UPON YOU, AND YE SHALL BE CLEAN: FROM ALL YOUR FILTHINESS, AND FROM ALL YOUR IDOLS, WILL I CLEANSE YOU.  A NEW HEART ALSO WILL I GIVE YOU, AND A NEW SPIRIT WILL I PUT WITHIN YOU: AND I WILL TAKE AWAY THE STONY HEART OUT OF YOUR FLESH, AND I WILL GIVE YOU AN HEART OF FLESH.  AND I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU, AND CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YE SHALL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS, AND DO THEM.  AND YE SHALL DWELL IN THE LAND THAT I GAVE TO YOUR FATHERS; AND YE SHALL BE MY PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE YOUR GOD.” – EZEKIEL 36:24-28

“BUT WHAT THINGS WERE GAIN TO ME, THOSE I COUNTED LOSS FOR CHRIST.  YEA DOUBTLESS, AND I COUNT ALL THINGS BUT LOSS FOR THE EXCELLENCY OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST JESUS MY LORD: FOR WHOM I HAVE SUFFERED THE LOSS OF ALL THINGS, AND DO COUNT THEM BUT DUNG, THAT I MAY WIN CHRIST, AND BE FOUND IN HIM, NOT HAVING MINE OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH IS OF THE LAW, BUT THAT WHICH IS THROUGH THE FAITH OF CHRIST, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS OF GOD BY FAITH: THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING MADE CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH; IF BY ANY MEANS I MIGHT ATTAIN UNTO THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.

NOT AS THOUGH I HAD ALREADY ATTAINED, EITHER WERE ALREADY PERFECT: BUT I FOLLOW AFTER, IF THAT I MAY APPREHEND THAT FOR WHICH ALSO I AM APPREHENDED OF CHRIST JESUS.  BRETHREN, I COUNT NOT MYSELF TO HAVE APPREHENDED: BUT THIS ONE THING I DO, FORGETTING THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEHIND, AND REACHING FORTH UNTO THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BEFORE, I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.” – PHILIPPIANS 3:7-14
