We are only here for a small amount of time in the context of eternity.
Society puts us in a box and we have to do X, Y, and Z and if you aren’t doing those things than you aren’t living. You are an outcast.
This is taken from Wikipedia:
“Crab mentality, also known as crabs in a bucket (also barrel, basket, or pot) mentality, is a way of thinking best described by the phrase “if I can’t have it, neither can you”. The metaphor is derived from a pattern of behavior noted in crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. While any one crab could easily escape, its efforts will be undermined by others, ensuring the group’s collective demise.
The analogy in human behavior is claimed to be that members of a group will attempt to reduce the self-confidence of any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of envy, resentment, spite, conspiracy, or competitive feelings, to halt their progress.”
Life is too short and precious.
I always imagined this big life. I wanted to make a huge impact. I had a vision of not just settling in my life.
But, what if the tiny things are what makes living worth while? It’s not a major event… it’s the little things you do along the journey that mean the most.
I have the “what’s next” syndrome I am praying through when God is in the now. He’s in the little moments and those little moments mean the most to my heart. He uses the simplest things to teach me those are the huge things.
We confine ourselves and don’t live out our dreams for fear of failure.
Why? What do we really have to lose?
Why are we so afraid of wearing our hearts on our sleeves or dancing? Why are we so afraid of what people think of us?
Why are we so afraid of taking risks?
We weren’t given much time so don’t waste the time you were given.
Putting your life in God’s hands is a life never wasted.
He knows the plans for You. He knows the life he has in store. He promises to never leave or forsake you. He places the desires in your heart and is faithful to make His vision come to pass. The only thing He asks is a willing heart and faith like a child.
Keep running the race. Keep pushing forward. Now is not the time to give up.
Life is way too short for that.
Make the recipe you’ve been waiting to make.
Eat the cookies. Enjoy the pizza.
Try something new.
Take the trip (after the quarantine, of course…)
Tell that person you love them.
Tell that person how much they mean to you.
Tell them how thankful you are to have them.
Spend time with your neighbors. Help the ones in need. Do that thing you’ve been wanting to do to make life a little better.
We aren’t promised tomorrow.
No regrets. No more fear.
Live the life God has for you. His plans are always much better.
