How much more shall your Father which is in heaven give…?

This is a simple story, but one God used to show me Matthew 7.

A regular customer at my job showed me a video of she and her husband giving their teenage daughter a car.

The daughter was so excited and surprised about receiving this and was visibly grateful and thankful to her parents.  It was the sweetest video.

One of the things that stuck out the most to me though was she said, “It’s even white like I wanted!”.

“ASK, AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU; SEEK, AND YE SHALL FIND; KNOCK, AND IT SHALL BE OPENED UNTO YOU: FOR EVERY ONE THAT ASKETH RECEIVETH; AND HE THAT SEEKETH FINDETH; AND TO HIM THAT KNOCKETH IT SHALL BE OPENED. OR WHAT MAN IS THERE OF YOU, WHOM IF HIS SON ASK BREAD, WILL HE GIVE HIM A STONE? OR IF HE ASK A FISH, WILL HE GIVE HIM A SERPENT? IF YE THEN, BEING EVIL, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS UNTO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THEM THAT ASK HIM?”
– MATTHEW 7:7-11

It made me think of Matthew 7 which asks ‘how much more will your Heavenly Father give’?

He knows the number of hairs on our heads and knows our every need before we even ask.  He knows every detail about us and tells us to come to Him, yet we are frightened or doubt.

Why do we worry about our lives when He is in every detail and loves surprising us?  His gifts are always the most exciting to receive and provide unforgettable moments.

I think sometimes we are afraid to ask Him for things out of either asking for too much… too little… or maybe not wanting to get disappointed so don’t bring it up.

But, we are to expect the GREATEST things from God.  We don’t settle when asking our earthly father for things.  I mean, maybe it’s just me, but this last week I really spoke to God for the first time about my desires.  I had to leave my fear behind and go to Him like a child.  I don’t know why I carry this fear around as if my Father doesn’t care about my desires.  I was crying.  I faced what I wanted to say and I said it and for some reason it was really difficult.

He cares.  He knows.
We are to come to Him like a child.  He loves us so much He sent His only son to die for us so that we could be made heirs with Him.

Stop existing. Start living.

Leave the fear behind.

Stop fooling yourself … do you trust God or yourself?

Mark 11: Sometimes you’re the mountain that needs to be moved

Let inadequacy and insecurity draw you to wholeness…

Don’t quit…Don’t give them the satisfaction…
