Chances are if you know me at all you will also know Brent and/or hear about him all the time. 🙂 If you do not, to fully understand this story, please read this blog first:
“Jesus gave me a Brent” Faithful is He that calleth you that also will do it…
“A MAN’S HEART PLANS HIS WAY, BUT THE LORD DIRECTS HIS STEPS.” – PROVERBS 16:9
A lot can happen in a year. I was only supposed to work with him a few months which turned into another month … which turned into what will be a year already in October. So much has happened in the last year without the current pandemic and Brent has been the sunshine. Not only did I get Brent, but also got to know and be a part of his incredible family.
I have been working on this blog for a few weeks, struggling to find words, and realized there are no amount of words to convey how this guy has changed my life. Instead of words I’ll share pictures since a picture speaks 1,000 of them. Maybe one day the words will pour out, but until then my heart needed a Brent and to put it simply he changed my life. These quotes perfectly sum it up:
“But miracles take time to happen. They wait until you feel worthless and then when you’re about to give up, they knock at the door… and sometimes they come as humans.”
“Miracles are of all sizes. And if you start believing in little miracles, you can work up to the bigger ones.”
“Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7
The last quote is from the only credible author I know of. 😛
Nerf gun competitor and favorite dance partner.
^^^When you’ve been Belle for 6 years and your amazing coworkers help you throw him a surprise birthday party (filled with all his little jokes from work including a “Barbie Cake”).

“Brent, how old do you think I’ll be this year?” “59”
He invited me to a ball… and then suggested we get married.
“Why not? You’re in a tux and I’m in a fancy dress.” This screenshot on the left is from a video I sent his mom of this hilarious conversation.
He is a foodie, gourmet chef, and loves roast beef po-boys as much as I do.

This guy knows what living is.
He’s not afraid.
He doesn’t limit himself.
He is Superman.
He talks to ERRRYBODY and never goes anywhere without making a friend (and telling the new friend something embarrassing about you…)
He’s not afraid of wearing his heart on his sleeve.
He is genuine.
He taught me to dance.
He sings his heart out and has no problem making you listen to the same Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton songs over and over … and over …
He taught me the words to “Losing my religion” by R.E.M.
You can sing and dance with no judgment.
He makes really good pizza.
He’s the best person in the whole world.
“You gotta know when to hold ’em, Know when to fold ’em,
Know when to walk away, and know when to run.
You never count your money when you’re sitting at the table.
There’ll be time enough for counting when the dealing’s done…”

This guy. Every day I have to clock in and out by taking his picture. You never know what you’re going to get, but I had to save this one. 🙂

Very uplifting.
