Have you ever been so thankful God didn’t give you want you wanted most?  Have you ever just sighed with gratitude that, while it was hard, you chose His plan over yours not knowing what it was, but that it would be good.

That’s how I feel right now. Thankful.

I want control.  I want to be one step ahead so that I am safe and know what is to come.  

But, if we are in control, that leaves little room for His plan.  He sits and waits until we surrender (which, if you are like me, could be a long time) and watches us making plans and paving paths knowing if we would just sit back and allow Him to do it how much better His ways are.

We want what we want right now.  We have this one life and have to get everything we desire in this second.  We have plans that need attacking so we can just keep moving forward one quick step at a time.  We hardly appreciate the one step when we are trying to leap to the next.

It’s the in between though that He is building us. It’s the little strokes in the gaps on our life canvas that color the painting bringing life to it.  It’s the tiny garden which goes unnoticed in a giant landscape that makes it complete.

We want to rush the painting.  We want to hurry and finish so we see the end result because we think the end is what is beautiful.  

But, God.  Yahweh.  The Creator of the universe.  The King of kings and Lord of lords makes every detail and “mess up” count.  He uses it for the outcome of the whole masterpiece.

The more you look at the painting the more details you notice to appreciate the painter didn’t miss a thing.  He didn’t waste one inch of that canvas and everything was good.

I pray for A and Z in my life, but God blesses me with the K and the Q and overwhelms me with his goodness.  

There is no rhyme or reason for it especially when I don’t deserve any of it.

My last post mentioned Him giving me a car AFTER a totally irrational meltdown which only proves there’s nothing I can do to earn his blessings.  

We grow from glory to glory and He gave me “this” so I could learn some things.  When I didn’t think I could be blessed more He gave me “that” so I could learn some things.  When I didn’t think I could be blessed more He gave me “THIS”.  The things He has blessed me with all came out of nowhere and right on time.

I’m not sure the point of this post except to say “don’t rush Him”.  He knows.  He sees.  It’s a lesson I continuously have to learn because I’m trying to get to Z and am so thankful for the M.
