Elections are always fun when politicians suddenly want to become friendly to those they had just deemed evil.
They need votes from the people they shamed and fired for choosing to remain unvaccinated. Articles about needing to forgive and forget the last two years and declaring ‘pandemic amnesty’ are going around out of convenience. They want us to forget how they bullied neighbor against neighbor. They locked us in our houses to isolate ourselves for fear of being together and having rational discussions about current events. Instead, people fought behind computer screens about “science” and caused division by spreading fear and hate against those with a different view, asking genuine questions. The facts kept changing, but people glued to their televisions waiting for the next news conference listened word for word.

Church and school shutdowns and lockdowns, penalizing and shutting down small businesses who could not keep up with the ever-changing Covid policies, and let’s not forget “rules are for thee, but not for me” politicians going to restaurants and parties when the ‘common folk’ could not even visit their dying family members in nursing homes or hospitals. Get vaccinated or lose your job suddenly is “we made a mistake”.
Today, for the first time in my life, I voted. I do not believe my vote matters and that politicians will do what they please no matter the outcome. I believe America is getting what we deserve by taking God out of everything. I struggled with the decision to vote because I have always said God is in control, and I wondered if voting says I don’t trust Him. Do I think I have control?
I don’t know, but we are all tired and “had it up to here”. It takes a lot of guts for a politician to say, “oops, my bad” to business owners who lost their livelihood from Covid policies that never made sense in the first place.

“Trust the science” from people who say men can have babies.

I think politicians need to look in the mirror and say, in the words of Taylor Swift, “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me.”
