Baffled about Balenciaga?

I am writing this with a foggy mind as I’m still recovering from a fever. If you are on social media AT ALL, you will have read or heard about the infamous fashion company Balenciaga and its recent campaign promoting child abuse.

“French fashion brand Balenciaga has filed a $25 million lawsuit against a production company it hired to produce one of two advertising campaigns that have drawn condemnation online.

The ad in question ran on Instagram and showed a purse on top of a document-strewn desk. One document in the background was a partially visible page from a court ruling related to child pornography. Balenciaga on Monday confirmed the document was from a 2008 Supreme Court case, United States v. Williams, which held it is not unconstitutional to forbid the promotion of child pornography.” –

Do I have a fever still? I am confused about how anyone would have thought this was a good idea. Indeed there were multiple board meetings about an upcoming photoshoot, so how did they promote this idea without ending up in prison? Oh yeah, “Art”? Balenciaga came forward to “apologize,” stating, “We strongly condemn child abuse; it was never our intent to include it in our narrative” which is ironic because if that were true it would have never been approved in the first place. I do not know much about the fashion industry, but I am sure there were a few levels this idea had to pass before getting to the actual photoshoot phase.

“The first campaign, the gift collection campaign, featured children with plush bear bags dressed in what some have labelled BDSM-inspired outfits. Our plush bear bags and the gift collection should not have been featured with children. This was a wrong choice by Balenciaga, combined with our failure in assessing and validating images. The responsibility for this lies with Balenciaga alone.”

Then, with regards to the Adidas campaign, it wrote the items in the photoshoot “were provided by third parties that confirmed in writing that these props were fake office documents.”

But apparently the papers “turned out to be [real] papers most likely coming from the filming of a television drama.”

“The inclusion of these unapproved documents was the result of reckless negligence for which Balenciaga has filed a complaint,” the company continued

“We take full accountability for our lack of oversight and control of the documents in the background and we could have done things differently.”

I think they only regret getting caught, knowing their future business is at stake. They have celebrity ambassadors and endorsements at risk, which do not seem to be at risk as their famous spokespeople are quiet on the subject.

Satan is out to attack the family and go after the most vulnerable. First, he normalizes the murdering of the unborn, and when that is not enough, he does this ridiculous child abuse photoshoot from a famous designer. They have been advocating that children mutilate their bodies because they’re not in the right one and normalizing pedophilia so much lately that I guess the company figured nobody would notice this campaign.

My question isn’t just about this company that I never paid attention to before but shows the absurdity of what has happened with society as a whole. I am so confused as to who would say this would ever be ok, but I am also shocked that people are shocked. Yes, this was a very brazen campaign and an extreme “I am rich and can do what I want”, but it also shows how little the elite care about children. On the other side are the parents who allowed their children to be in the campaign. There is no way a parent did not know what was going on in the shoot. If they were ignorant about it but saw it all happening in live time, why did they leave their child in the hands of these creeps?

Maybe it is the cough syrup, but is this real life? We are living in a backward world. In the end times, they will call right wrong and wrong right.

Besides this fiasco, the other outrage should have started with the willingness to pay for a $650 t-shirt.

Seasons in the Semi

Because of my scattered brain, I have at least three blogs going at once. I started with my favorite places to drive, which led to a focused post solely on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the fall and a reflection of Ecclesiastes: to everything there is a season. Which one will I post first? Will I…

romanticize your life

What a week. So much could be said about the state of the world and the horrific events that have occurred in our country alone. The absolute evil that exists and the cheering alongside of it can be debilitating. Most of America and I have felt so much sadness this past week. I mourned a…
