Candace Cameron Bure is a bigot, but so are most Christians…

Besides getting married being the main thing taking up my brain, I’ve wanted to write about things I’ve listened to or researched, like Mormonism and cessationism. You know, light topics. 🙂

I cannot gather thoughts on those as I need to figure out where to begin. It would be like trying to sweep the ocean, and I cannot do it yet.

Instead, I’ll keep it less complicated by saying how much I respect Candace Cameron Bure, A.K.A. DJ Tanner from Full House A.K.A. Kirk Cameron’s brother. I am not a celebrity follower nor read gossip magazines nor am I 100% sure of her beliefs, but she has been under fire recently for leaving the Hallmark channel for starting her own network, Great American Family, that is more conservative and values her beliefs.

I follow her on Instagram (which does not mean much), and the comments are incredible. The world is lost, and people either love or hate her. And by hate her, are calling her the worst of names simply because she is standing up for her faith, and scripture says this would happen. “Blessed are you when you are persecuted for righteousness’ sake”. While I do not know her personally, to grow up in Hollywood and the public eye and stand up for the name of Jesus takes considerable guts when it would be so much easier to focus on being rich and follow the crowd. I listened to a few of her podcasts and have enjoyed it. She has guests on, and they discuss their faith and scriptures. She brought up her marriage and some of their struggles in the few I have listened to. When she was first married, her husband was not a Christian, and she prayed quietly for him, and through the work of the Holy Spirit, he became one. In the one I listened to yesterday, she talked about how being stuck together during the pandemic strained her marriage. They were used to traveling and avoiding certain things when suddenly, due to the lockdown, they were forced to look at their marriage and almost divorced. They talked to their kids, who sat them down and preached to them about what the bible says about marriage, and through the work of the Holy Spirit, they are still married.

It’s refreshing to listen to these stories because while she’s in the public eye, she lives a Christian life and shares the struggles instead of sugarcoating the prosperity gospel and pretending everything is perfect. She is standing up for her faith and for Jesus Christ in a world that destroys anyone who does. I was unsure what to expect, but seeing how she stood up publicly for leaving a company that did not align with her lifestyle or beliefs and going elsewhere speaks volumes and has interested me in her podcast. She is an example and witness of trusting God with a family and career, leaving everything behind to follow Him.

“Faithful is He who calleth you who also will do it”

The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast:

“When God says No” – this was one I loved so much. She talked about God saying no to her getting divorced. It was a REAL conversation and not pretending life is perfect.

Your work ethic is not your worth

Seasons in the Semi

Because of my scattered brain, I have at least three blogs going at once. I started with my favorite places to drive, which led to a focused post solely on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the fall and a reflection of Ecclesiastes: to everything there is a season. Which one will I post first? Will I…

romanticize your life

What a week. So much could be said about the state of the world and the horrific events that have occurred in our country alone. The absolute evil that exists and the cheering alongside of it can be debilitating. Most of America and I have felt so much sadness this past week. I mourned a…
