Seasons in the Semi

Because of my scattered brain, I have at least three blogs going at once. I started with my favorite places to drive, which led to a focused post solely on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the fall and a reflection of Ecclesiastes: to everything there is a season.

Which one will I post first? Will I finish any of them? You know more than I.

Thinking of Autumn gets me so hyped up. A warm cup of Apple cider in a mug while wearing a cozy sweater while sitting on the porch swing is where I’m at. Well, I’m writing this post in the cab of a Peterbilt next to my puppy dog, but a girl can dream.

Anyway, this account we are on does not go to the north east, but I am so thankful to have seen a proper Autumn. I hope to see Maine someday in the fall, but beggars cannot be choosers.

God truly puts on a spectacular show of bright orange and red colors as a glimpse of how beautiful change can be. The reality is that winter is coming and they are dying, but we all know and hope that spring will show up and there will be flowers and new growth. It is smart that the leaves provide shade in the summer and allow for heat in the winter by letting the sun through. However, in between, it is the most beautiful display of the power of letting go. The trees are not afraid of change or death. It just happens. They do not try to hold on or force a different season. They exist because God created them for their purpose and are surrendered to that plan. They don’t have souls, but you get the idea.

We, as humans, are so stubborn in trying to hold on to a specific season when God is saying to let go. In doing so, we miss out on the beauty of God’s perfect plan. People literally flock to the north east to see the seasons change, so why are we so terrified of the testimony of what God is doing in our lives? He is on full display if we allow it.

Anyway, where is this going? I have no idea. Like I said, this is the third thing I have written in 15 minutes.

Autumn is beautiful, and I am so thankful to have seen it. It reminds me of how beautiful change can be and the renewing of the seasons. Why would we worry about our own lives or future when God is the master of it?

It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and work hard for our goals, but God reminds us through current events what our true purpose is: to know Jesus and proclaim Him. Everything else is vanity.

Your work ethic is not your worth

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” – Colossians 3 This job can be very stressful and challenging at times. At the same…

romanticize your life

What a week. So much could be said about the state of the world and the horrific events that have occurred in our country alone. The absolute evil that exists and the cheering alongside of it can be debilitating. Most of America and I have felt so much sadness this past week. I mourned a…
