I am really learning what it means to wait on God.
It means a lot of waiting.
That means you wait and when your heart is willing He teaches you what He wants you to know. It doesn’t mean you get what you want. It means you get what He wants you to have and knows the timing of when you are ready to receive it.
I went through phase of “I DON’T KNOW THE BIBLE SO I’M GOING TO READ THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE!”
Yeah… that didn’t get me anything except anxiety and learning about the flesh vs the spirit. Wow. The battle is legit. And I was in a battle…with myself.
I don’t want to do that again for a long time. So, I finally let go because I was going insane and once I did God said, “Now that you’ll listen…here…” and showed opened my eyes to things. Was it necessarily what I expected? No. Because that’s not how He operates. He shows you what He wants to show you.
You can’t force things and you can’t pretend to be patient and you can’t pretend anything. He sees the heart. He knows it. He’s purifying it. He wants it.
You will run and not grow weary because He is an endless adventure. We are merely sojourners doing His will. What is His will?
(The world would have you believe it’s mysterious and nobody could ever know because you have to just believe and have faith …what does that even mean?? But, my God doesn’t hide Himself.)
“AND THIS IS THE FATHER’S WILL WHICH HATH SENT ME, THAT OF ALL WHICH HE HATH GIVEN ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, BUT SHOULD RAISE IT UP AGAIN AT THE LAST DAY.
AND THIS IS THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME, THAT EVERY ONE WHICH SEETH THE SON, AND BELIEVETH ON HIM, MAY HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE: AND I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY.” – JOHN 6:39-40
Let’s be honest…life sucks sometimes. But, when we embrace God’s plans and His will over our own it becomes beautiful. You are able to endure because you know Who is in control. Sometimes we want a new season and it won’t come. Sometimes, the season doesn’t start or end how we would expect. Sometimes, God knows it will take something dramatic for us to move. He is faithful and in every season.
Things didn’t happen to us or in spite of us. Yes, sometimes we make stupid decisions, but if we are wise will learn and grow from it. Things happen because our Creator is so beautiful and precious and loving and faithful that He uses those experiences to draw us to Himself.
He wants us as we are. He knew what we were when He created us. He knew what we would need redemption from. That’s how much He loves us. There can be no facades. You can bring your ugly and your raw and dead heart and He turns it into a lovely garden.
He does not hide Himself. He is shining brightly as the sun…because He is the Son. ❤
“JOHN ANSWERED AND SAID, A MAN CAN RECEIVE NOTHING, EXCEPT IT BE GIVEN HIM FROM HEAVEN. YE YOURSELVES BEAR ME WITNESS, THAT I SAID, I AM NOT THE CHRIST, BUT THAT I AM SENT BEFORE HIM.
HE THAT HATH THE BRIDE IS THE BRIDEGROOM: BUT THE FRIEND OF THE BRIDEGROOM, WHICH STANDETH AND HEARETH HIM, REJOICETH GREATLY BECAUSE OF THE BRIDEGROOM’S VOICE: THIS MY JOY THEREFORE IS FULFILLED.
HE MUST INCREASE, BUT I MUST DECREASE.
HE THAT COMETH FROM ABOVE IS ABOVE ALL: HE THAT IS OF THE EARTH IS EARTHLY, AND SPEAKETH OF THE EARTH: HE THAT COMETH FROM HEAVEN IS ABOVE ALL. AND WHAT HE HATH SEEN AND HEARD, THAT HE TESTIFIETH; AND NO MAN RECEIVETH HIS TESTIMONY.
HE THAT HATH RECEIVED HIS TESTIMONY HATH SET TO HIS SEAL THAT GOD IS TRUE.
FOR HE WHOM GOD HATH SENT SPEAKETH THE WORDS OF GOD: FOR GOD GIVETH NOT THE SPIRIT BY MEASURE UNTO HIM. THE FATHER LOVETH THE SON, AND HATH GIVEN ALL THINGS INTO HIS HAND.
HE THAT BELIEVETH ON THE SON HATH EVERLASTING LIFE: AND HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT THE SON SHALL NOT SEE LIFE; BUT THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDETH ON HIM.” – JOHN 3:27-36

If you are learning patience and have control issues like me just get a plant… You’ll learn how little control you have. 😀
I’ve waited so long for this plant to get buds and bloom and am way too excited.
And yes… I would camp out in the backyard to watch it open up …
Youtube: Needtobreathe-Walking on Water
“I was sinking like a stone again.
I was halfway in the grave and then I looked up and saw Your face again…
You pulled me out of the water.
There’s no turning back…
Nothing in the past…
My eyes are on You again.
Can’t see nothing at all, but Your outstretched arms
Help me believe it.
Though I falter You’ve got me walking on water.”

I have finally surrendered it all to God and let him work his will. I have tried it my way so many times but keep getting the same result. All I can do now is be still and wait on him.

Surrender is hard sometimes, but always beautiful.
“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” – Hebrews 12:11
