Walking into new seasons like…- A journal entry

“When God hasn’t opened a door praise Him in the hallway”

But, He is the door.

“I AM THE DOOR. IF ANYONE ENTERS BY ME, HE WILL BE SAVED, AND WILL GO IN AND OUT AND FIND PASTURE.” – JOHN 10:9

Call it procrastination.  Call it what you will.  In the middle of reading an economics book I needed to write in my journal…

God, I know new things are springing forth. What you’ve done is gotten me to forget the former things.

You have changed my heart to not carry my baggage into the new season.

You are making a way in the wilderness because You set me free.  You guided me and paved the road that is narrow.

You made a way because You are the way.  Where I was once lost I am found in You.  You’re making a river in the desert because You are that living water.  Those who drink from Your cup will never thirst again.

You’ve shown up in the places no one could reach and You’ve always made a thing of beauty out of my messes.

I’m standing in between the former things and the promised land and I’m not turning around.  I’m running the race to gain the prize.

You are the prize.  You will always be the prize.  No matter what I gain or what I lose nothing will ever compare to knowing You.

You are my Lord.  You are my Father.  You are my master.  And all you ask is a willing heart.

I can’t be afraid of where you send me because You will always be there.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

You promise to give me the words to say because I am not eloquent.

You promise to never leave nor forsake me when I’m in a battle alone… because I am never alone.

You say to rejoice under persecutions for Your sake because a servant is not greater than his Master and they persecuted You.

You say to leave it all behind because losing your life is finding it.

You say not to worry when they come after me because this battle is not mine.  It’s Yours and it’s already been won.

You say those that wait upon the Lord will soar on wings like eagles.  We will run and not faint.  We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength because His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

When we are weak He is strong.

Thank You for calling me and wanting me.
