Whatever you are going through isn’t the end or isn’t worth ending your life. Please, stop right now.
You matter.
Talk to someone. They want to help you, I promise. Let someone in and let them listen to what you have to say. Don’t hold it all inside. You are important and you matter. If you have pain, please put down the drink or the drugs and feel it. The drinks, the binging, and the drugs are bandaids. They’ll only make it worse in the long run. PUT IT DOWN. They don’t fix anything.
The devil wants you to believe you have no worth and there is no hope. He wants you to believe your life isn’t worth living and you are a burden to others. He wants you to believe that the world would be a better place without you in it.
But, that’s not true. None of it is true. He’s the father of lies and destruction.
You have worth and value. You have purpose.
Maybe it’s not what you are going through, but something happened TO you and it’s just not fair and you can’t see how you can live with this hole in your being. But, it can be used to help someone else. Time doesn’t heal wounds, but God can restore your pain and use it for good. That’s what He does. He makes beauty from the ashes and works everything out … somehow.
This blog became a journal of my walk with Christ and I am not who I once was. I lived in shame, depressed, bitter, had anxiety, and was overall a GEM (I say that sarcastically).
Almost seven years ago, I got saved when I had nowhere else to turn and felt too ashamed to pray. I was tired of being alive.
One night I screamed out and cried for God to help me, and my life has never been the same since.
My mom had been sick my whole life and died when I was 19.5. I used to obsessively live in the past, looking at photos or old videos. I’ve realized recently I do not look at anything anymore. I don’t talk about anything that happened before seven years ago, nor do I talk about my mom. I am getting a little better with that but would instead choose not to bring it up. God ha
What God has in store for me is so much better than my past. My past was filled with such hurt that I avoided for years that I would instead not think about it. I did not start living until Jesus, and that’s the part worth talking about. My life became colorful, and I came alive.
Matthew 10: When only God can restore your relationship with your dad.
A story of one of the best-worst things to happen to me.
I read an article this morning about depression/suicide in teens:
As parents, I know it is hard to bring things up because you could never imagine your child could feel that way.
But, as a parent, YOU are the safe space. You are where your child should feel comfortable and be able to talk about ANYTHING. You don’t want your child to learn on the internet because they are too uncomfortable to talk to you about their different issues. You don’t want them going to an internet forum to talk to strangers who don’t know them from anywhere. And you DON’T want to end up in the emergency room with your child because they SUDDENLY harmed themselves.
I remember when we lived in Memphis, and my mom had a major stroke. I chose to control my life by controlling my food. One day I walked into the apartment, and my dad was sitting on the sofa waiting for me. As soon as I opened the door he shouted at me that if I got under one hundred pounds he was taking me to one of those places.
I shouted back, defensively.
But, he had never mentioned it before. But, he saw it.
The point to this post is that there is hope. His name is Jesus. He redeems our brokenness and uses it for His purpose. I am thankful for all I experienced and hope to help people by being there. While God is still healing me, I hope that I can encourage others and be a light to them. I never want anyone to feel worthless or feel like they cannot express themselves around me. People do not like being talked at. They like to be heard and able to be themselves.
They don’t need someone to fix them but be there.
And when people fail you as they always will, you run to Him. If you don’t feel comfortable where you are or feel too ashamed, know nothing you can bring to Him that will shock Him. He wants all your broken pieces and all your junk. He wants every part of you and will put you back together.
He loves you more than you could ever imagine, and please don’t give up.
Keep going.
Today is a new day, and if today doesn’t go well, there’s tomorrow.
Keep going. Keep holding on.
While my dad and I have our share of issues and Jesus had to fix our relationship, the one thing I know is my dad always trusted God. He was always praying or reading his bible. When I was lost, he was the example even if I didn’t see it at the time. Children see and watch their parents. They know more than you think.

There are so many good points in your post, Aimee. This one really sticks out.
When you said that Satan is a liar, I immediately thought, “But God always tells the truth.”
🙏❤️ prayers and love. Happy almost Easter!

This took me back in my memory to some dark times in my life, even as a young adult. Growing up chronologically does not mean maturing. I was in my early 30s when my sins came crashing in on me, but Jesus was there in my deepest pit. Thanx for the reminder of how wonderful a savior He is! ❤️&🙏 c.a.

Thank you for reading. I read your post and isn’t it incredible how He comes to us. He knows just how to reach us and is always right on time even when it seems it’s too late.
I am glad you found Him and are changed. He gave you a second chance to help others, too.

A very good article.
May I offer two suggestions: one is to guide others to Focus on the Family. They are a Christian organization in Canada and the United States. They have great free resources ( including where you can get in contact with professionals willing to help.
2 ) Always remember this: Jesus loves you. Jesus cares. Jesus is always there. There is not one experience you are going through that He has not gone through. Joseph a son of Jehovah
