I saw this sign in someone’s trash pile Saturday morning as I was riding my bike. I see many treasures while exercising, but it is never the right opportunity to bring them home. For example, I cannot carry a giant table or armoire back with me while walking. By the time I get home, I forget about whatever the interesting item was.
However, this sign had one of my favorite scriptures on it and stuck with me. I laughed to myself, thinking they must not believe it anymore to get rid of it, and then my day carried on, and I forgot about it.
The next day, I remembered I forgot about it and realized that it was certainly destroyed by all the rain we just had if someone had not picked it up.
However, you never know. “If God wanted me to have it, He will.”
I ran through the house, grabbed my keys, and told my dad, who had just sat down to lunch, that I was going to see about someone’s trash.
“Ok?”
I raced down the street to see it was still in the yard! I jumped out and analyzed it. “Good enough” and put it in my car. There’s always a crying story with me ever since getting saved… haha. When I first started at my customer service job, I was in an awful place in my heart and life. There was a man whom I call my angel because he would walk in the building and always tell me things I only prayed about. He would give me a ‘word,’ and I would run around the desk with tears and give him a bear hug on several occasions.
One day when he walked in, I said I had a word for HIM and quoted this scripture from memory. He just stood there and looked at me with tears in his eyes. I think of that every time I see or think of this verse. It is not King James, but beggars can’t be choosers. (Side note: When I called said angel about my new job a few months ago and all that God has done with the car, etc, he smiled through the phone. He said, “That’s why I would always talk to you. I knew there was something special about you.”
I brought the sign home, cleaned the mud off, and propped it up to dry.
Would I pay $30 at Hobby Lobby to own this sign? No.
Did I need the sign? No.
Do I know where I’m going to hang the sign? Not yet.
Did God know it is one of my favorite scriptures and would enjoy having it? Yes.
Romans 8:28

Signs from God are all around us. He even kept yours in stock for an extra day! Romans 8:28 is certainly a strange sign to chunk in the garbage. Maybe the Lord knew you needed it more than the previous owner.🙃
