Has anyone else gone down the rabbit hole of Elizabeth Holmes/Theranos?

She wanted to change the world and boasted that she would do so by revolutionising global healthcare, making state-of-the-art screening for numerous diseases accessible to all.” – The Daily Mail, How did Elizabeth Holmes fool them all? – Tom Leonard

I had never heard of this incredible and intriguing web of lies until Ryan, the gentleman friend, mentioned her name a few months ago. Since meeting through an online dating service, we both had obvious reservations, so I jokingly asked if he was Ted Bundy, and he stated only if I was Elizabeth Holmes. I had no idea the turn my life would take after a quick google search and going from never hearing of her to rapidly wishing I had just 3% of her mind.

This woman came up with one of the most elaborate schemes by creating a phantom blood lab promising to revolutionize the healthcare system. She stated she is scared of needles and wanted to create a product that would take one tiny drop of blood to create results instead of the typical big tubes used in other labs. The problem was that this method did not work, and she knew it. One of the “solutions” was diluting the blood droplet with saline which only changed the data. When employees in her lab questioned this method or suggested some changes, they were either fired or told they did not belong there. Departments in her company were not allowed to communicate with each other and, if they did, were reprimanded.

She is a prime example of taking full advantage of human nature’s incredible thirst for power and greed by mainly drafting rich, white men WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MEDICINE to be on her board of executives. How?!? I cannot comprehend this story, and the more you read, the more mindblowing it is.  

I cannot lie and admit that I find her plan to be highly brilliant and lure the rich and powerful with promises of the abundance of wealth. The problem, of course, is that Ms. Holmes used her gift of brains for evil and not good by robbing people of their money and messing with their health which is inexcusable. Had she chosen another path, she could have done extraordinary things. Still, her ability to manipulate and lie with absolutely no remorse is astounding, and she indeed should face the consequences.

She had the perfect setup: a beautiful blonde woman who knew how to work a room yet came across confident and assertive. One of the craziest parts of all is that she speaks in a baritone voice, yet it is NOT her actual pitch which only proves the whole situation is madness. The delusion runs deep, but it’s remarkably brilliant, and according to an article I read, her father was the Vice President of Enron, which explains so much about the unexplainable. The sprinkles on the cake is that she got pregnant before her trial. I can only assume this pregnancy was planned to show her maternal side and get sympathy from the jury. Is that an insane thought? Maybe. But, the whole story is insane, and if she is deceptive enough to run an entire PHANTOM BLOOD LAB FOR YEARS, then she is capable of getting pregnant on purpose to sway voters.

“The former Silicon Valley darling was convicted of one count of conspiring to commit wire fraud against Theranos investors and three counts of fraud in connection to wire transfers. The jurors found her not guilty on four other counts — three of which related to defrauding patients — and failed to reach a verdict on three others.” – Yahoo

I have no idea how she could be found NOT GUILTY on defrauding patients, but can only assume it is because the companies she partnered with to use her lab would technically have the patients. My mind continues to be mindblown no matter what I read. I went so far as to buy John Carreyou’s book, ‘Bad Blood:Secrets and lies in a Silicon Valley startup’.

I brought this story up at work one day and after the trial verdict was texted by one of my coworkers, she ended up throwing herself down the rabbit hole of articles. I told her “Welcome!” and sent her the 60 Minutes segment below.

This whole story is a true reflection of 1 Timothy 6:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

The love of money only exposes the roots of our hearts as it gives freedom and access to live out desires and interests. It exposes our motives and creates material longings. The more we have, the more we want, as the flesh can never be satisfied. I am not sure that anything I have written makes sense, but I am completely intrigued by it all. Much like the Jeffrey Epstein story, my mind cannot fully grasp the evil that is involved here. I cannot fathom someone being so deceptive and carrying it out for YEARS with no second thought. The best part, to me, is the fact that she got Generals and presidents to back her! Joe Biden visited the Theranos lab while vice president and praised her efforts. This story of insanity only proves how much government agencies should be trusted when it comes to our health, but that is another topic for another day and has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FINE HANDLING OF COVID-19 OR THE PUSHING OF VACCINES AS THE ONLY CURE. Elizabeth Holmes had an entire business set up with board members to discuss a product that DID NOT EXIST and recruit investors! She duped everyone involved and I hope it was fun while it lasted. Also, there is NO WAY she does not have a backup plan knowing the deception.

There is no way to truly write about this as it is like trying to take a picture of the Grand Canyon. This also does not try to compare the majesty of God’s hand to the deception of this woman, but you get the picture. This post does not begin to scratch the surface of this story but must warn you that if you enter the rabbit hole of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes, you must be all in. Once you jump in, there is no coming back out.
